My So-Called Home Page

Last modified 6-2-95
Hi! Welcome to my so-called home page! I'm always looking for interesting links, escpecially
in the categories below, so if you find something I don't have, feel free
to send it my way...
Prelude
My full name is Stephen M. Lane, but you can call me Steve
(until I get my Ph.D. in 1999).
Alert! This page is undergoing a massive renovation. I'm trying
to get a good selection of links, then I'll add more "personal
information (TM)", and finally some cool graphics. The goods
should always be here, though.
One more thing, if you're not using Netscape, you won't be able
to use this page (and most others) in all their full glory.
If you have Netscape, and are using something else, you're
making a big mistake.
And here we go!!!
Serious Stuff
The serious things in my life...
Erin!
- my beloved girlfriend and
partner-in-crime, Erin Michele Beebe. Nothing
here yet, but very soon I'll have some info on her, including
what you've all been waiting for: extremely cute pictures
of her and me together! Now where can I find a color scanner?
My Research
- I'm a 3rd-year Ph.D. student
in Biochemical Engineering at NCSU. My research project
is "Synthesis of Complex and/or Chiral Molecules with RNA
Catalysts synthesized via an in vitro evolution prodecure". Whew!
Also, nothing here yet, but there soon will be...
Other things I love
...in order!
Nothing here yet either. Yes, I like it more than baseball
and pinball, for right now, anyway.

Steve's Pinball Page
THE CLASH!!!
I'm creating alt.music.clash as I speak (on 6/25/95).
This is the official WWW page for the newsgroup.
Movies and TV
Quentin Tarantino
Music Pages
Perl, Unix, C, C++ Stuff
- I love all these, but Perl by far the most, then
Unix, then C++, and then C.
Some handy info for ya...
This is THE BEST Hotlist I've ever found. It has
tons of links, divided into categories. They have quality
recommendations to help you sort the wheat from the chaff,
and you can add to it. Perfect!
P.S. I think almost every
NandO.net page is recommended.
It makes more sense when viewed as a source.
My list of all HTML commands I'm making.
You can't see these! (Unless you ask nicely...)
There's a lot of good pages out there, but only a few can be called
the best. My page has the best, this has the rest.
This is supposed to be a list of all the WWW servers in the world.
NCSU currently has 10 servers on 11/8/94.
Now we have 27 (!!) (on 6-4-95). See them here.
- this is generated from a Perl
script I wrote and seriously need to update.
Super -

The best WWW searchers are here.
Miscellaneous stuff about the WWW.

Cool non-NCSU home pages!
See the bottom of this page for my

General Internet Info
Good FTP Sites and Their Mirrors
NCSU Pages
This section was previously all the NCSU home pages, but Shetal Patel keeps a
much better list than I do. His link of all the pages is at
Shetal Patel's
NCSU Users Web Pages.
My TOP 12 FAVORITE NCSU Home Pages!!! (in no particular order [YET!])
I am currently updating these.
-
BOB(c)WEB - Andy's one of the coolest guys at NCSU. Ask
him about rando-sig.
-
-
-
Joe Madden (jpmadden). Joe's wacky. His brother Bill's even wackier.
-
PakRat's mess (Christopher Dukes) (cddukes) - guaranteed to break TN law.
-
Chris's Home Page (cgrinds)
-
Entrance to the Dark Dragon's Lair (Daniel Henninger) (dahennin)
-
David Beeson's Home Page (dmbeeson)
-
Ewan Pritchard's Place (egpritch). Has a good page on odometer scripts.

James' Home Page (jerobins). Home of the Window Manager page!
-
Info on Jason (jmsulli). The famous Splay-maker.
-
Mike Caudill's Personal Page (mbcaudi). Small but classy.
-
Shetal N. Patel (snpatel). His list of NCSU students' home pages is the most
valuable page at NCSU, IMO.
-
Sean Korb's Home Page (spkorb). Some nice examples and links.
-
Bill Madden - NCSU College of Textiles (wpmadden). Bill's just an all-around
neat guy. I haven't met him though. He wanted to fight me in May.
-
Kerry's Home Page (klsmith2). How could I not include the most accessed page
(far and away) at NCSU?
-
Welcome to IntenSecure GUI Builders... (BCWatson)
-
Andrew D. Jones: Archives and References - he's trying to make a list
of NCSU WWW pages. Does he know about Shetal's?
